Passionate Super Haka earns Dunedin schools $2000

A rousing performance of the Super Haka -- Otautahi Maraka, Rise Up Christchurch -- has seen King's and Queen's High Schools in Dunedin announced as the winner of the $2000 prize for the best Super Haka video, as voted by the public.

More than 1500 votes were submitted through the Super Haka website and King's and Queen's High School received roughly half of the total votes with 771. Merivale School in Tauranga was second with 575 votes.

Ngai Tahu will also select a school performance that best embodies the spirit of the Super Haka, which was written by Ngai Tahu especially for this occasion. The winning school, which will receive $1000, will be announced on Friday.
